On Tuesday 15 June, from 4.30 pm, the conference “Which governance for the future of the Italian ports”, organised by the Italian Geographic Society and RETE, will be held online.

The initiative aims to assess how the recent evolution of port governance allows to innovate the ability to respond to the challenges of the maritime scenarios in the Mediterranean and global context.

The conference will be opened by Claudio Cerreti, President of SGI, and Massimo Clemente, Director of the Institute for Research on Innovation and Services for Development of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR IRISS) and Scientific Director of RETE.

This will be followed by Stefano Soriani, Professor of Economic-Political Geography at the Department of Economics, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, member of the Scientific Committee of RETE.

The meeting will be attended by Zeno D’Agostino, President of the Eastern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority; Luciano Guerrieri, President of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority and Luca Sisto, General Manager of Confitarma, the Italian Shipowners’ Confederation.

Moderating the debate and concluding the proceedings will be Paolo Sellari, Professor of Political and Economic Geography at the Department of Political Science, Sociology and Communication of the Sapienza University of Rome, and since 2014 Director of the Master in Geopolitics and Global Security at the same university.
